ABOUT STREET FIGHTER.

Well, I would like to write about some curious facts I found in street fighter, I remember when I was 10 years old, one of my favorites video games was the first version for super nes of street fighter, I’m talking about street fighter 2, in that version only 8 characters were able to be chosen: Ryu, Ken, Guile, Chun li, E. Honda, Blanka, Zangieff and Dhalsim; and other 4 more were the bosses of the game: Balrog, Vega, Sagat and M. Bison.

Two years later came a new version, all the characters were able to be chosen and four more new characters: Dejay, Cammy, Fei Long and T. Hawk. I had that version for super nes (super street fighter), but once looking for new movements in a magazine I found some character’s name had changed, now Balrog was M. Bison, Vega was Balrog and M. Bison was Vega, I thought that was a confusion but in fact that magazine presented the Japanese version of the game, and those names of the characters were the real names, the character I knew as Balrog originally was called M.Bison, his complete name was Mike Bison and was a tribute for Mike  Tyson, but when the game arrived to USA, Capcom America thought it could be a cause of troubles with the boxer’s managers, so they decide to change the name for Balrog, that name was originally conceived for the masked Spanish fighter, but his name was change for Vega, because it is a Spanish surname they supposed it was the better choice, that name was originally thought for the final Boss, who will going to be called M. Bison originally Vega. The “M” in M. Bison had many interpretations; many thought it was M of Major, Mister or Master.

Many new versions of this video game have come put since 1994, (SF Alpha, super street fighter 4, super street fighter 4 turbo, super street fighter 2 HD remix) and some other more but the names of these characters keeps the same for Japan and also the changes made for the rest of the world keep on.

The names stayed like this, for USA, Latin America and Europe, I think the new names in which we knew the characters are better targeted and they express better their personality.

Now one more cuestion, as we can remind Honda's stage is his bathroom, there's a bathtub and all arounnd was plated with tiles, and at the backgroung thre was a picture of sun, Mont Fuji and a japanese man, the picture remins black and white during the fight, but once a winner appears the picture became in full color, the sun beams in the picture changed flashes orange and yellow, also a big bill appeared moving in front of the man's face, and aslo his face was moving.

What kind of technology was that picture? was it a LED screen? that was a question I always wonder.

GOWCAIZER VOLTAGE FIGTHERS

Maybe many of you have heard about one of the most important designers and directors of Japanese animation, I’m talking about Masami Obari; we have enjoyed with many of this works, and probably we’ve fallen in love with some of his female characters, beautiful and friendly girls wearing outfits that leave little to our imagination; maybe you remember Mai Shiraniu, her first appearance in the videogame “Fatal Fury”, but in 1994 we saw this sympathetic Japanese girl in “Fatal Fury, the motion picture”, and we witnessed her graceful movements in every fight, and how her big and beautiful breasts seem to want to go out of her skimpy clothing with each jump; and then you wish that girl to be real.

Well, fur by Masami Obari and his spectacular works that began my fascination with Japanese animation; I remember December 1999, when by first time I went to a Block Buster for renting my first Japanese animation movie, and it was “Gowcaizer voltage fighter”, an animation movie from 1996 by Masami Obari.

In this OVA you will see many beautiful girls, but the most beautiful of them were  Shaia, a pretty blue haired girl wearing only two strips of red cloth covering only her breast, and something like a bikini, just a strip of red cloth passing between her round shapely posteriors, as if the strip hides between them.

Well this is about Isato Kaiza the main character. In 1999 a strong earthquake destroyed Japan, and many years later it was reconstructed and becomes in a sophisticated megalopolis, and developed high technology. There is a giant building that can be seen from any point of the city, this giant building is the school called “Belnar Institute” where boys and girls from all over the world  are preparing to form an army of superheroes in order to be capable to stop the causative of the first hecatomb: “Ohga”, But the principal of this institute is the same Ohga, under the guise of a mysterious and lonely man called “Shisuru Osaki” Osaky consider the habitants of earth conform an inferior civilization and with the help of the president and vice-president plan the strategy for the destruction of the earth, so they grant weird red gems (the Kaizer stones) to those who share their crazy notions about th Earth. But one of them Hellstinger  grants one gem to Isato Kaiza in order to thwart Ohga and so save the world.

You will love this ova, and you will love so more the girls appearing here, I recomend you to watch it, I will talking more about Masami Obari's works and other more.
